Alvara Loop Sling Lounge Chair

The Alvara Loop Sling Lounge Chair balances sculptural woodworking with relaxed, enveloping comfort. Its continuous loop-shaped frame is crafted from solid ash wood, creating a flowing silhouette with gently rounded arms and grounded sled-style supports.

A full-grain leather sling is suspended within the frame to support the upholstered seat and back cushions. This flexible construction allows the chair to respond naturally to the body while maintaining a light, open appearance.

The generously padded cushions are upholstered in warm ivory bouclé and filled with high-resilience foam wrapped in soft polyester fiber. A gently reclined backrest and deep seat create a comfortable position for reading, conversation or quiet relaxation.

With its warm neutral palette and distinctive curved frame, Alvara complements contemporary, Scandinavian and organic-modern interiors.

Structural Design

The leather sling carries the seat and back cushions while distributing weight across the curved wooden frame. Reinforced leather tabs and concealed steel bolts secure the sling to the upper and lower support rails.

For production, the frame should be tested under a static load of at least 450 lb / 204 kg before assigning the recommended customer weight capacity of 300 lb / 136 kg.

Assembly

Minimal assembly is required.

The two curved side frames are connected using the supplied solid-wood support rails and concealed steel bolts. The leather sling is pre-attached to the rails, and the cushions are secured after the frame has been assembled.

Care Instructions

Vacuum the bouclé upholstery regularly with a soft brush attachment. Blot spills immediately using a clean, dry cloth; do not rub. Use a water-based upholstery cleaner only after testing it on a concealed area.

Dust the wooden frame with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not use abrasive cleaners, wax or silicone-based furniture polish.

Clean the leather sling with a soft cloth and a cleaner specifically formulated for natural leather. Apply a neutral leather conditioner every 6–12 months. Keep the chair away from excessive humidity, heating vents and prolonged direct sunlight.
